Last Saturday’s Star Tribune had an interesting interview with Arianna Huffington (her website is the Huffington Post). The interviewer asked if the internet was going to kill newspapers. Her response: “No, no. The blogosphere is suffering from OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) and traditional media are suffering fron ADD (attention-deficit disorder). So you have a big story being broken on the front page of the New York times about the Pentagon propaganda war…and then the story dies…but we in the blogosphere are keeping it alive, because it’s such an important story. So that’s another role we play. So many important stories just disappear otherwise.”
A good thing for us to remember as marketers. Once a comment is on the net…it stays there. Something all companies now have to deal with.
